Comments: “The fellowship is open to a wide range of fields, but preference will be given to scholars in fields with existing degree programs at Penn State Abington or areas of need for the college. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited doctoral program in the U.S., authorized to work in the U.S., and demonstrate a commitment to and engagement with equity issues. Special consideration will be given to applicants from racial/ethnic groups underrepresented at Penn State Abington.”


University of San Francisco Gerardo Marin Diversity Dissertation Fellowship

Comments: The fellowships “seek to help increase the presence of currently underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in the U.S. professoriate by supporting advanced doctoral candidates during completion of their dissertation.” ”

Candidates in disciplines in which racial and ethnic groups are traditionally underrepresented will receive special consideration. Candidates must have completed all course work leading to their doctorate by Summer 2017 and must be considering a career in college teaching in one of the following fields:

Arts and Sciences: Communication Studies, Media Studies, History (emphasis in Islamic History), Art and Architecture (emphasis in Architecture, Design, Fine Art, and Art History), English (emphases in Native American Literature, Asian American Literature, Commonwealth Literature, or British Literature), Politics, Psychology, and International Studies

Emory University Visiting/Dissertation Completion Fellowship

Comments: “We are interested in supporting the completion of dissertation projects across the spectrum of the humanities that examine the origins, evolution, impact and legacy of race, difference, and the modern quest for civil and human rights. We also support research projects that examine race and ethnicity and its points of intersection with other identities and movements addressing differences along gender, class, religious, or sexual lines.”


Consortium for Faculty Diversity at Liberal Arts Colleges Dissertation Fellowship
