Comments: “Candidates should exhibit expertise in Critical Ethnic Studies with a demonstrated ability and desire to define Ethnic Studies from a comparative perspective that includes attention to the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, class, and sexuality. Preference will be given to scholars with additional emphases in African American Studies, The Black Atlantic, Arab American Studies, and Queer Ethnic Studies. The successful candidate will likely teach existing courses such as Race, Culture and Politics in the U.S., Race in American Culture, Global Origins of U.S. Cultures, Critical Race Theory, African American Cultural Images, and Sex and Gender in African American Communities, as well as new and existing courses in their areas of expertise.”
