Comments: “Seeking a humanistic social scientist, but applicants may specialize in any discipline, including humanities. Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching two courses per semester in a new global studies program, with a liberal arts focus on culture and commerce in the contemporary world system. To be competitive, fellow will be able to teach courses (or units within courses) on several topics pertinent to a broad view of “culture and commerce,” such as consumer culture, development and underdevelopment, markets and money, security and risk, inequality and social mobility, innovation and entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, bureaucratic organizations, and modern constructions of identity (including race, ethnicity, language, religions, class and/or gender).”
